Rehoming Your Parrot
YOUR PARROTS FUTURE
Safehaven Parrot Refuge is here to help people who have had to part with their parrot(s) for whatever reason that may be. This can be a traumatic experience for both the parrot and the owner. The owner may have died, and there is nobody who wants to take on the care of a parrot. Birds can also come to us because they are just not wanted anymore and some of these birds may have had a miserable existence for many, many years. They may have been imprisoned in cages (often filthy and far too small) and have had to live on an extremely poor and inadequate diet. Some have also being starved of the care, love and attention a parrot needs for a healthy and happy life. Often, birds that are handed over to us are much loved, therefore owners may be reluctant to part ways; however we are here to offer our support to help parrot owners make the right decision is rehoming their bird. If the previous owner wishes to do so, regular updates are provided from volunteers and new owners.
